Homemade Slushie/ Snow Cone Syrup

How to make your very own slushie/ snow cone syrup from things the average person will have in their house!

Step 1: Things You Will Need

Things you will need:

- Measuring cup
- Kettle (or some way to boil water.)
- Kool-Aid powder
- Empty bottle
- White sugar
- Large bowl
- Funnel (not pictured)
- Spoon (Pictured, but only the pure of heart will be able to see it)

Step 2: Clean Out the Bottle

I don't care what anybody says about it being clean already. CLEAN THE BOTTLE OUT. It will make everyone rest easier.

Step 3: Boil Water

Some people like to put the sugar and water in a pot and then boil the water on a stove top, but that takes too much time. Boil the water in a kettle (or above a fire if you feel so inclined).

Step 4: Mix It All Together

In a large bowl, mix the water, sugar, and Kool-Aid together.

I used:

- 500ml water
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- (approx.) 3 tbsp of Kool-aid powder


That being said, it will all depend on how many cavities you want and or how sweet you want the syrup. Make sure to test it before you go to the next step. If it tastes like warm Kool-Aid on steroids, you did it right, if it tastes like sugar water with a hint of Kool-Aid, put more Kool-Aid in, and if it tastes too watery, put more sugar and Kool-Aid in.

Step 5: Put in Syrup in Bottle

I like to use a funnel and pour the syrup in the bottle, then put it in the freezer for a minute, then test it, then put it in the fridge, but if you're worried about BPA or something, just put the bowl in the freezer (make sure it can be put in the freezer first) for a minute and put it in a water bottle after.

Step 6: END

Enjoy your syrup (hopefully not right out of the bottle). I crush ice with a specially designed slushie maker thing, but you can crush ice with a blender if it has an ice crushing function too. If you REALLY want, crush it with a hammer, but I don't suggest it. The ice is not crushed evenly.
