1. a hookah bowl is necessary for this project (make sure it has the silicone cover inside the bottom)
2. sand down the am pm cup white to make it look better
3. I found that you can use the object in the first image in place of the Mya trumpet. I simply heated the metal and punctured the plastic in a clockwise turn and cooled it in water. The screw nut does not screw in all the way but it holds nonetheless. Couldn't find any other fits at Lowe's. I also bought 3 feet of 7/16 "OD clear tubing to use as the pipe. It fits and removes quite well.
4. Instead of fitting the washers around the rim to make a tight fit, you can also simply fit them as shown in the 2nd picture and rest the entire "stick" on top of the rim. It still remains air tight and is also more convenient to take out and clean. I also could not find the exact washer size listed for this DIY so I found some that fit the 3/4 pipe.
5. I didn't have a file at home to grind down the flare pipe so I didn't bother buying the screw+nut+washer. Instead, I heated the flare pipe and hammered it down and cooled it in water. Then I used heavy sanding paper and sanded it down the best I could. Only do this if you absolutely do not have a drill + file. It takes more work and time. As you can see in the 3rd picture it becomes messy and not very filed down. It still works however even though the diameter is thicker than the original because the silicone inside the bottom of the hookah bowl seals around it still.
I haven't tried smoking out of it yet, going to try it tomorrow with some homemade shisha. Props to the maker of this DIY, this is going to make my trip 10x more fun. Thanks!
