That is a regular burner for light oil (diesel) but upgraded. Changed nozzle, the oil-fired path, electric connections, warming up, compressed air - it is not that simple to made it - very 'choosy' thing. Lot of hour of adjustments, but after this... very cheap energy, full automatic.

Very interesting. I've found a shop where they sell these burners, but they are using a source of compressed air for it. It doesn't seem very comfortable to have a compressor roaring day and night.... How about yours? Have you got instructions ready for interested persons? Grtz

Don't know if anyone is still looking at this but there is an easier quicker way to make a waste oil burner out of a regular home hot air heating furnace or boiler. only need a couple of tools, 2 or three parts and the plans to do it. I've made a few and my first one is still working after 3 years.

I wanna show you this movie first and later i'll made instructional movie. It is not that simple to make it. I need more time. For this time I published this one. If you really want to build a automatic wasteoil burner, go join the Yahoo group called "altfuelfurnace" then study the archived messages along with the files, photos, and links sections. Don't start off like 90% of the newbies and ask where the complete instructions on "how to build one" is located as no two burners are exactly alike! When I say study it I mean STUDY it! Only then will you ask intelligent questions and get good answers. Building a complex burner like this takes time, so consider it a journey and enjoy the trip! You will start by gutting the donor burner except for the blower, blower motor, oil pump, the high-volt starting transformer, the fire eye, and some controls. You will add heated waste oil container, heated filters, and heated siphon nozzle. Air pressure (for atomizing the oil) is also needed as this type burner atomizes like a paint gun, not by pressurizing the oil. I have built burners but none automated and as professional as this site will teach you to do. My Yahoo handle is "tinkerrbill".

How about just giving the instructions and adding a movie later? I have a complete / never used fuel oil burner assembly from 1977 when I built this house. I even have the manual for it. It would be great to get some idea on how to convert this unit to burn used motor oil!!!!

Hi! It needs compressor for work... You can use compressor made from old refrigerator. It needs only 1 BAR of pressure, but it needs lot of air. Useful can be compressor made for pools - it's silent but... expensive :)

No, I use it to burn a biodiesel waste - glycerol. My bio is for my BMW 2,5l TDS ;o)
