Introduction: Honey-Bee Crunch Cookies

Honey Bees… I kept wondering what I shall make as a dedication to the cute little Bees and a came out with this recipe.

I have used the technique of making Ladoo (Indian Dessert). Here I have replaced Ghee (Clarified Butter) with Honey. This recipe does not require Baking too. The honey used bring together the crunched Honeyed Balls together. The taste of Honey is so divine. This recipe uses honey as the only Sweetener. Hope you like it… :)

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients..

Serves 4

Honey - 1/4 Cup

Biscuit (Any plain or Butter Flavored) - 6

Cardamom Powder - 1/4 Tsp (Optional)

Vanilla Essence - 1/4 Tsp

Almonds - 4

Chocolate or Chocolate Chips - 1/4 Cup

Tools Required:

Freezer Bags/ Zip lock Bags

Step 2: Crush the Biscuit

Break the Biscuits into pieces and powder it to a coarse grains in a Blender or a Mixer. It should be coarse and hence do not blend it so much.

Step 3: Warm the Honey

In a Sauce pan warm the honey in low flame. When it is just warm till a little runny texture. Then remove it from the flame.

Step 4: Now for the Crunchy Balls..

While the warm honey is kept aside take anothe pan. Add the crushed biscuit and dry roast it in Low flame. Keep stirring in order to prevent burning. Once a roasted smell comes add the cardamom powder and Vanilla Essence. Mix it well.

Then add the warm honey little by little. Keep mixing and adding honey till the mixture is quite wet and will come together when pinched with hand.

Note : If Cardamom powder is not available take the inner seeds of Cardamom and crush it. Its just an optional ingredient.

Step 5: Make the Honey Bee Crunch

Let the mix cool for few minute till the heat is comfortable to handle.

If the mix becomes cold then it will be difficult to mold into shapes.

With a spoon shape the warm honey-Biscuit Mix into oval shape to get the body of the honey bee.

Step 6: Bee Lines

Make a cut of desired diameter at one end of the Zip-Lock cover or Freezer Bag. Warm the chocolate piece in microwave for 5 seconds. The chocolate should not melt. It should be of thick consistency. Place it in the Zip-Lock cover.

Step 7: Honey-Bee

Slice the almonds horizontally to get the wings of the bee. Assemble everything and the Bee is ready :)

Enjoy the Honeyed Crunchy Bee.
