Note: Please be very careful and use caution if you make flambe. Do not use more liqueur than I have recommended. I am not an expert. I have written this Instructable to share. This is what I did and it worked for me. Everyone's environment is different and I can not know how to advice you on how to avoid risk for your particular environment. Consult a professional if you have no experience. You are at your own risk if you try this for your enjoyment.

Alcohol above about 100 proof (50%) is flammable at room temperature. Alcohol nearing 200 proof (100%) can have explosive vapors at room temperature. The stuff is about as flammable as gasoline, except the flames are much dimmer, (invisible in daylight.)
Alcohol well below 100 proof would probably nearly need to be boiling to be lit. Basically you would need a lot more heat, and the difference in heat between a small flame and a huge one would probably be quite small. Also with the higher heat comes the risk of it self-igniting.
Sorry to hear about your kitchen fire in the past. It must have been so scary for you. BTW, I'm a twin too! The good one of coarse...
Happy Friday!
I can relate to that!
Happy Friday to you too! Sunshiine
