Introduction: Hot Dog Booklet From Susan Kapuscinski Gaylord

This is one of my favorite books to make because it is so simple. All you need is a pair of scissors and one piece of paper. I prefer to use recycled materials: any piece of paper with writing on only one side or the front panel of a brown paper grocery bag.

You can find written directions and more projects at http://www.makingbooks.com

I was deeply moved by the entire celebration of the Inauguration of Barack Obama as President but what echoed in my mind the following day was the tune of the Shaker song Simple Gifts that was used in John Williams's composition Air and Simple Gifts. I have designed a small hot dog booklet with the words of the song to commemorate the day. You can download a pdf to make your own at

Wow! That's neat I have done this book many times but never this way - I'm going to add this variation to my workshop :-)
