Why? I donut know. It just popped in my head one day and I added it to my Silly Idea List. Some uses I can think of are:
1. "Shaving" some calories off
2. Making the dogs round again, you know how they're flat on one side sometimes?
3. Start with a block of ham. and turn 'ya some solid meat dogs.

Built from:
scraps of wood & some glue
a drill
a file
a hose clamp

I'm not gonna go into a lot of detail about the construction of this. I think that anyone who really wants one of these can build one by looking at the pics. Just please tell me why.

SAFETY FIRST! Always wear eye protection ALWAYS! Meat in your eyeball sucks! Kids get you parents permission/assistance. Guys ASK before carvin' up the dogs that was gonna be hot dogs on the grill and is now gonna be MUSH for the CATS! Learn aboot lathes and stuff before building a little one for hot dogs! Loose clothing, long sleeves, long hair, jewelry, necklaces, neckties ALL ARE BAD NEWS AROUND A LATHE! They say machines have no feelings, but I think that they hate us, and stay up late trying to think of ways to kill.
My stomach kinda did flips when I read "solid meat dogs", hahaha. But I know a ton of people who would love that.
How about apples and other fruit and vegetable replicas carved from blocks of meat. Solid meat apple. Solid meat potato. I like it. I like it a lot.
You didn't do a safety disclosure. Don't forget eye protection. You never know what they put in them hotdogs.
Ooohh...dang. I had better add that! Don't want a bunch of one-eyes chasin' me down the street!
this is for taking regular hotdogs, and turning them into "caseless" dogs, right?
Why yes thank you! :)
There are very, very few projects that make me wonder &quot;why?&quot;.<br><br>This one makes me say <em>&quot;Whuh?&quot;</em> and scrunch up my eyebrows in a way that is only attractive in toddlers and spider monkeys.<br><br>(By the way, I like it.)
I think we need to see it in action - get the video camera out!
I did chill them in the freezer a bit. and video posted.
Oh, that my eyes water!
You know, I agree, but this seems like the kind of thing I'd do out of sheer boredom (and half the community here, just for the hell of it). Now we just have to wait for hot dog and associated lunch meats &quot;art&quot; to appear here...You could model furniture with hot dog legs and baloney table tops...make hot dog baseball bats...etc. etc. etc.
Maybe freeze them before working?
