Introduction: Jetscooter

Picture of Jetscooter

Making of the Jet/hover scooter.

This was a project we got assigned by My machine.

The idea was to let children(age: 12) draw there dream machine.

Afther a little voting it then was our job to realise their machine.

supplies:

-leaf blower engine

-wood (dimensions off your own preference)

-screws

-silicon

-helmet

-strong plastic foil

-ductape

-pipe

Our prototype is different from our eventual machine, I will explain how to build our prototype and then what changes you have to make for the real thing!

Step 1: Making/choosing of the Board

Picture of Making/choosing of the Board

Pick a light/strong wood we worked with multiplex 6layers 1.2cm this was enough to hold 100kg.

Saw it in the form of choice as long as it is symetrical.

We choose for this form so the person on the board could still place his feet next to the board.

Step 2: Making the Plank Hoverable

Picture of Making the Plank Hoverable

Secure a strong plastic foil to the bottom and reinforce it with ducktape if needed.

We choose to attach a extra border to the board for extra stability.

On the bottom of the board attach a small aluminium/wood rail and make big holes on both sides of the rail and 1hole on top of the board where you are going to install the leaf blower engine.

Step 3: Montage of the Engine

Picture of Montage of the Engine

Place the engine on the board where you want.

Messure the dimensions of what pipe you will need to make the connection to the hole.

If you have an electric engine you could just directly place it above the hole .

For safety reasons we attached some aluminium bars around the propeller of the engine.

The engine itself is attached with silicon to the board.

Step 4: The Steering Wheel

Picture of The Steering Wheel

For the steering let choose a light/strong wood.

Saw out the form you want and be sure it fits with your engine to attach the steer to the board we used silicon and screws.

Step 5: Engine (protection)

Picture of Engine (protection)

We made a helm for the noise and a hood for extra protection for the child and for the engine.

Attach the wings with super glue or silicone be sure NOT to use screws as this would make the helm dangerous.

For the hood we made a small but effective hood so the engine was still accessable to operate it.

Step 6: Leaf Remover

Picture of Leaf Remover

The child who made the machine said she hated the leafs and branches on her way to school so we made her a leaf/branches remover.

We simply attached a broom in front of the jetscooter that is deployable when needed.

Step 7: Final Product
