Introduction: How to Change the Bulb in a DLP Projection Television

About: I am the CEO of Recognant.com. I build AI that is used to do everything from moderate comments, to find off label uses for FDA approved drugs to treat children with cancer, to tracking down human traffickers.

Quick and easy bulb replacement. This is done with a new encased bulb not just the bulb into the original case.

Step 1: Step 1: Removing the Cover

First: Remember to turn off and unplug the TV and that it has been off/unplugged for over an hour.

All you need is a screwdriver (depending on the screw used, philips or flathead)

Find the back panel and loosen and remove the middle screw and remove the cover.

Step 2: Step 2: Removing the Bulb

Once the panel is open, identify the two screws holding in the bulb.

Step 3: Step 3: Removal

Carefully remove the bulb

Step 4: Bulbs

So the bulb on the left is the old one, it was rated at 2500 hours.

The new bulb is rated for 5000 hours and is slightly smaller but produces the same amount of light. This bulb is available with or with the enclosure. Buying the enclosed version, is easier to replace and the price difference is only about 20$

Step 5: Step 4: Replacement

Before placing the new bulb housing back, find the rails and line them up to the casing.

Slide the lamp back in and screw the 2 screws back into place at the bottom corners.

Step 6: Finish

Replace the panel and screw.

Now you can enjoy the TV again!
