Introduction: How to Create a Cup From Only a Sheet of Paper

There often comes a time where a drink is to be had, but what will you hold your beverage when all of the dishes are dirty? The following sequence will give you a user-friendly process for creating a cup made of only a sheet of paper, so you'll be ready to quench that thirst when the time comes.

Supplies Needed:
• An 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper
• A pair scissors
• A set of steady hands

Step 1:

Begin with the 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper in portrait orientation. Fold the lower right-hand corner of the paper to the left so that the bottom edge of the page is aligned perfectly with the left side.

Step 2:

Now, cut off the excess strip on the top of the page with the scissors. If you were to unfold the paper so that it is flat, it would make a perfect square. This is the basic material that will be folded into a cup.

Step 3:

Instead of unfolding it, though, leave it in its triangular shape. Simply rotate the paper so that the longest side of the triangle points toward you.

Step 4:

Fold the upper layer of the right side so that its edge lines up with the bottom edge. Make a crease, and then unfold it.

Step 5:

Next, fold the right-hand corner of the paper to the left, placing it where the crease that was just made meets the edge of the left-hand side of the page. Make a crease.

Step 6:

Now, fold the left-hand corner of the page to the right-hand side. Place the corner where the crease meets the edge as you did with the other side. Make a crease.

Step 7:

Fold the top layer of the uppermost corner downward, tucking it completely into the top slit created by the fold that you just completed. Crease it.

Step 8:

Next, flip the cup over so that you cannot see the folds. Now, fold the top corner downward, so that the top of the page is even with the other side.  Make a crease.

Step 9:

Now, open the paper at the top, and add your beverage to this new, disposable cup. Have fun!

Step 10:

Warnings:
• Product may induce paper cuts in the oral region.
• Product is intended for limited use, and will eventually break if overused.
• Do not attempt to set the cup down on a flat surface, as it does not have a stable bottom.
• Please drink responsibly.
