Ever wanted to save that awesome video of that Pop-Tart cat flying in space without having to go to YouTube again? Do you want to do it EASILY? Well you came to the right Instructable. In this Instructable I will show you how to download YouTube videos directly to your computer. It's as easy as watching the video so lets commence.
Step 1: Materials
A wise man once told me, "It's not what you have but what you can make from it." Such a powerful quote that applies to this Instructable because practically any computer can do this simple method to download YouTube videos.
WHAT IS REQUIRED
- A Computer
- A Connection to the Internet
- A YouTube video
***For this demonstration i will download the Nyan Cat video because it is awesome***
Step 2: STEP 1: YouTube
This first step is the easiest. All you have to do is find a YouTube video but the crucial part is if there is an ad on the video reload the page. Simple?
Step 3: STEP 2: RealPlayer Is Your Friend!
The first step is to download RealPlayer.
If you already have RealPlayer move onwards and do not worry if you dont click here
for a FREE download.
Step 4: STEP 3: FireFox!
Since RealPlayer only downloads videos when you're using Mozilla Firefox you will need to download that too dont worry it is FREE!
Firefox is also one of the premier web browsers that there is due to tons of security and being one of the fastest browsers helps too.
Step 5: STEP 4: the Download!
Now is the easy part that you can repeat if you want to download more awesome videos after your first download. Now you must click the "Download This Video" button. Just like that the download will commence, but we are not done yet, folks!
Step 6: STEP 5: Conversion/END!
Okay so some computers and phones can't play the type of file you just downloaded (.flv). So now we must convert it to .mp4 or .wmv which all the major computers can play. I know it seems hard but our good friend RealPlayer has this operation built-in! so after it downloads just hit Convert All located at the bottom of the window!
Then click convert to and go video formats and Windows Media!
You have now downloaded a YouTube video and can now watch it!
