I do have one tip for drawing in the manga style. It really really helps to make a rough skeleton, with proportions laid out. As a general rule, most characters are about 6 or 7 times the length of the head tall. It really helps me.

nice instructable dude may i give you some tips? you should make the nose some smaller, anime have very small noses search youtube for some hair style drawing tutorials they helped me alot aside from that you are a very nice drawer :) keep it up

I rather like the pants _ Although in the manga/anime style, the eyes are usually more stylized and/or elaborate.

Also, I dont like to draw "good" pics. I just dont find much fun. I prefer doodling. I only make "good" drawing when Im inspired to do so. The second pic was supposed to be the Instructable, but then I got bored with it and I decided to make a simpler one. I really never finished it, its exactly as you see it there

about all the put downers: all you guys who say this dude is horrible at drawing,ripped off pics, etc. JUST SHUT UP. im only 14 and i cant draw well at all maybe i should post and instructible about drawing and see how much hate mail i get! its depressing that all of you people say that this kid cant draw!!! even if you can draw better than him he's just sharing how to start a anime pic. sure his drawings could be better with some practice maybe * no offense keith* and so could mine!!! but thats not his problem or mine and you should not be criticising his talent.

I have specifically said that I can draw better than this! I made it simple!
In no way did I ever say this was great, but some people cant draw very good and maybe dont know where to start off.
I guess I can handle all the hate mail, critisiscm is good any way, good or bad.
