How does the whole contest thing work? I mean, why is there judging and voting? Do only people with the most votes get judged?

why can't I use a Instructable i all ready published?

author
fungus amungus (author)imrobot2009-04-28

Because contests are incentives for people to create new Instructables.

While I didn't see a "published" rule limitation, it appears some entries are also found in the Earthjustice US of Efficiency Contest. Is it safe to assume if contest timing coincides with another, we can enter both contests (with the same entry) simultaneously?

I can't see whether or not everyone can enter eg can enter even when they live in a country like new Zealand. its annoying cause i miss out on most comps because i live here I can't even buy model rocket engines here or from over seas because they are flammable and can't be air mailed. why is the world so cruel to me!

mum (author)astro boy2009-04-30

Me to mate! I hate seeing all these comps and cannot enter! Even more than all the stuff they have! I have an ebay account and can buy stuff from all over....but the wait kills me to! And the heavy stuff is crap on postage charges! :o( It's times like this when we have to make our own stuff! In your case maybe blow up the back yard trying.... And me I get something like a super nova explosion when experimenting in the microwave!

How sad is it for me over here in the UK! I can enter but cannot win! Wrong country! :o( Cath

Isn't this contest a little late?

Mothering Sunday was March 22nd...

author
thepelton (author)Kiteman2009-04-27

Mother's day in the United States is second Sunday in May.

author
fungus amungus (author)Kiteman2009-04-24

It's May 10th here.

author
Kiteman (author)fungus amungus2009-04-24

Ah, that would be the modern* Mother's Day, as opposed to the traditional Mothering Sunday.

*"Modern" meaning only just a century old.

Wow I never heard of Mothering Sunday before! Wow thanks.

author
stinkymum (author)Kiteman2009-04-24

I celebrate them both! But it really confuses my mother in law in Suffolk when she gets another card in May!

Is this contest available to Australia? The rules do not specify any specifications but I'm just curious.
