Plastic bottles deserve another chance. They take care of their precious liquid cargo when you have to drink on the go, then most of them get the old heave-ho when empty. This just isn't right, so we're having a Keep the Bottle Contest!

Show us what cool things you can do with a plastic bottle. After you've quenched your thirst, use your head to come up with some cool and funky uses for it. Whether it's super useful, artistic, or just plain silly, we want to see the creative ideas you come up with.

Post an awesome project, and win a Voltaic solar-powered backpack so you'll never run dry on green power! Not only do Voltaics keep you on the go, the fabric in the bags is made from recycled plastic bottles! We'll be giving three Converter bags away: one selected by user votes and two selected by our judges.

Entries accepted from anywhere in the world, and there is no limit to the number of Instructables you can enter! You can only win one prize per contest. Now, get to it and show us your bottles!

How do you get a cat to wear a tennis ball crash helmet?
jessyratfink says: Jan 11, 2009. 7:00 AM
You have to wait for the approval. ;) Just wait it out, once business hours roll around and they take a look it'll show up. :)
thepelton says: May 28, 2009. 3:51 PM
Someone needs to start thinking of what to do with those foil Caprisun juice bags.
8bit says: Jan 13, 2009. 1:58 PM
Hmm, so you have to pay taxes on it, but there is no guarantee that it is actually useful for anything nor is even necessarily in working condition. Lawyers just go and mess everything up, don't they?
E-R-IC says: Feb 10, 2009. 5:09 PM
yup. sadly
Squidbillie says: Feb 2, 2009. 5:38 PM
I know that the voting has already started. I also know that I entered last minute. But several other Instructables have been entered and mine still hasn't been . Yes I did enter it in time. Does anyone know what's going on?

Weissensteinburg says: Jan 11, 2009. 7:15 AM
Fine, i'll do it! After studying today, i'm going to home depot to check out the pvc chicken wire/safety fence prices and sizes.
jessyratfink says: Jan 11, 2009. 7:16 AM
Yessss! You can do it, mister! It could definitely win. :D
Weissensteinburg says: Jan 11, 2009. 7:19 AM
I'm gonna do a miniature version. 1000 bottles would cost me too much in materials, and would be massive. Even 500 bottles is pretty big.
gmjhowe says: Jan 11, 2009. 12:51 PM
*twists other leg*

OH! sorry, didnt see you had given it up already... my bad.
Yerboogieman says: Jan 11, 2009. 2:09 PM

You can also improve upon previous projects.
Kiteman says: Jan 9, 2009. 2:39 AM
Ah-ha, then I have one.

Although it will look kind of silly if the ground doesn't thaw in time...
fungus amungus says: Jan 8, 2009. 2:56 PM
As long as it hasn't been published here before, you're OK.
jongscx says: Jan 8, 2009. 12:44 PM

Are projects involving any type of plastic bottle/container eligible? Such as shampoo or soap bottles, milk cartons, etc.
jeff-o says: Jan 8, 2009. 1:52 PM
I think as long as it's plastic, it counts.
