How To Get Your Mother Earth On Using Make-Up by ice89b
Featured
I decided to produce a make-up instructable, I've been doing make-up since I was 11 years old, but in reality I didn't start wearing make-up until I was 17.  After years of practice I started experimenting with make-up going beyond just your everyday make-up and going into more of an extravagant style. The design I have produced has a "earthy" vibe to it, I call it "feeding mother earth."
Materials: liquid foundation or concealer, black pencil eyeliner, white pencil eyeliner, black liquid eyeliner, red lipstick, lip balm, black eye shadow, dark blue eye shadow, green eyeshadow, yellow eyeshadow, glitter, false eyelashes and lash glue.
Tools: Cosmetic sponges (at least 3), soft paintbrushes, cotton swabs (q-tips), and  a container with water.

Step 1:

Start off with a clean face. Take your foundation or concealer and dab evenly over face.  This will hold the make-up securely on your face and will prevent it from cracking.

Step 2:

Apply the blue eye shadow all over forehead until you reach the eyebrows, apply by using a paint brush: dip it in the water then dip it into the eye shadow. then you will get something like a water color. do the same with the green. The green should start where the blue ended to the base of your eyes.

Step 3:

add the yellow using the same process.

Step 4:

To avoid harsh lines take the cosmetic sponge dip it in water and blend. (you can also use your fingertips and dab instead).

Step 5:

Take your black eyeliner and draw in some eyebrows. Continuing with the eyes, take your q-tip and dip it in the black eye shadow and apply it evenly over eyelid up to the base of your brow.

Step 6:

Take your white eyeliner and line your waterline, get to your tearduct and pulldown to give kind of like a cat eye and at the same time blending it with the already present eyeshadow.

Step 7:

Adding stars. take a q-tip and spread it over the lip balm and make dots on your forehead the sprinkle the glitter on top off it. shake the left overs off and there you have it...a starry night sky.

Step 8:

Next, take your liquid eyeliner and draw a tree on each of your cheeks starting at your jawline. Then take your red lipstick and draw little apples (dots) on some of the branches of your trees.  Since the lipstick is on hand go ahead and fill your lips.

Step 9:

now adding the lashes.  take the glue add a drop of it to the stick of a q-tip then you take an eyelash and run the base of it right a cross it, let it dry for like 5 seconds then add it to your top lash line. do the same for the other eye.

Step 10:

This reminds me of the cover of a children's book 'A Bad Case of Stripes' where the girls is like rainbow colored.

This is quite interesting. Is the idea based on some Native American or Mayan/Inca traditional folklore? The look would definitely go with a colorful handmade costume. Thanks for sharing.
