Introduction: How to Make a Blanket Door

A blanket door can be used as an alternative to a normal door. It adds style to any room and provides a more comfortable and laid back vibe. I recommend using a colorful or unique blanket as the door.

Step 1: Step 1: Top Left Hook

At the top of the door frame, measure 1 in. outside to to left of the doorway. Mark that spot. From that spot, measure up 1 in. Hammer one of the hooks into the final spot.

Step 2: Step 2: Top Right Hook

At the top of the doorway, measure 1 in.  outside to the right of the doorframe. Mark that spot. From that spot, measure up 1 in. Hammer one of the hooks into the final spot. The 2 hooks will be used to hang blanket from.

Step 3: Step 3: Hanging the Blanket

In order to hang the blanket, hold the blanket so that it is narrow and long. Now pull the blanket tight across the middle (the narrow way), but not too tight (you still want some slack). Now pierce the blanket with either hook (if your blanket is too strong you can pierce it with scissors or a knife). Once pierced, hang the blanket from both hooks

Step 4: Step 4: Additional Side Hook

Now measure halfway up the door frame (this could be on the inside of the frame or outside and also on the right or left side it doesn’t matter). The placement of this hook depends on personal preference and where the doorway is in the room. Mark that spot. Nail the third hook into the spot.

Step 5: Step 5: Pulling the Door Open

This hook can be used to hold the blanket door open by pulling the far end over and hooking it on the hook.
