hey when i try to change the file type it dosn't work
i cant either
&nbsp;save it as your name here.bat don't forget the extension.
when i click it it opens a window but then closes it almost instantly. help
make sure you put the "goto start" at the end of your program look at my 2nd instructable for a more in depth of how it works
i did that but it still wont work. i even tried it on multiple computers
make sure youre running it from within the cmd prompt window<br />
you have to create it in notepad and then save it as a .bat file i tried it out at a library computer to see if it depends on the type of computer when i did this i hit save as and had to select the "all files option" and then save as matrix.bat if none of that works, then reply to this comment with exactly what you put into notepad
@echo off color2 :start echo %random% %random% %random% %random% %random% %random% %random% %random% %random% %random% %random% %random% %random% %random% goto start i did just as you said but it doesnt work and i dont know why? i tried typing directly to command prompt and it gave out a few random numbers
can u change the speed on it mine is turbo? Thanks P.S. please answer me:-)
Ive been wondering the same thing...
no you cant change the speed to my knowledge because it randomly generates #'s
insert a timer loop
Yes, there is a way. It puts a very small pause before the goto. The code is on my computer. Once I find it, I'll put it up .
<p>for the real newbies to bat file scripts - you forgot to add the hash marks in your script.<br /> &quot;copy and paste what is between the hash marks&quot;<br /> &nbsp;</p>
I use his at school to make me look smart :3<br />
what would be the code to run it in full screen?
the matrix only shows 1's and 0's which is computer code.
just hit alt+enter while its running
right click, create shortcut. Then, on the shortcut, right click, properties, Options tab, display options to full screen.
how would you make this on Vista. i think i heard the codes are different.
No, it's the same.
Vista`s registry won`t let you (or else the system would crash).
batch files are the same
i found out that my computer doesnt allow CMD to be presented in full screen (damn you vista).
I use Linux. This won't work for me, but look into xscreensaver's xmatrix. It is a recoding of the exact way the numbers are drawn in the matrix's monitors, then it traces a phone number using the numbers (which are drawn really fast) then goes to (after a system failure or it's done tracing) the classic symbols dropping down. It also randomly stops and does the "follow the white bunny" thing, and it awesome with two screens.
Yayyyy...Linux.....what flav do you use?....i jump around with different live cds.....so far Slax is my fav Flav...
ubuntu
yaaay!
Wait, you jumped around with different live cds? You have it actually installed, right?
i have it installed on one of my computers (ubuntu) but im going to change to slax once it gets officially into kde 4.X
xubuntu
nice...ubuntu and slax are probably my top linx flavs......
I know how to do that! Just don`t leave running for too long or it crashes your programs. (I found out the hard way.):<br/><br/><pre>f=1while [ $f=1 ]doecho $RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOM$RANDOMdone</pre>
haha thats awesome, it works for me but i cant get the text color to be green eventhough the 2 is present, any solutions or ideas??? thanks
umm can you get the color to change at all?
change color2 to color0a
my bad.. color 0a
no just change it to color 2
color 2 is not very matrixy 0a is better (neon)
i always used 0a i don't know why i said color 2
how do you get it to go off?
I can easily be turned off by pressing ctrl + alt + delete End program/process CMD.exe
its color 0a like padlok said if you want a neon green color...you just got to add the space between the "color" and "0a"...the one with color 2 is a darker green
the icon wont change at all some help PLZ :D
Try this: Go to Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad and insert the code. Then click save as and type matrix.bat. That should work.
i cant get it to work either!!:[
