Introduction: How to Make a Watering Can

It's time to learn how to make a watering can the DIY way.  In this video I show you how I make my own DIY watering cans, save money, conserve water, and keep more junk plastic out of the land fill.  I also show you a comparison of different types of DIY watering cans so you can save the trial and error and make it how you want it the first time.

I have numbered each of the containers 1, 2, 3, and 4 for clarity and so that you don't get confused with what I'm doing.  Container number one is the container that I've been using for the last few weeks but I wanted to make a few more so that I had watering cans for different tasks around the yard and garden.  I made container number two out of the same thing that I made container number one out of but I changed the whole pattern.  With container number three, I show you what it's like to drill holes in the lid rather than the clear plastic.  And container number 4 is a laundry detergent container that I'm using for my watering can and I show you what I do to make the lid work as the sprinkler head.

My favorite container to use for making my own watering can is the detergent containers because of their shape, the handle, and the ease of exchanging the lids so that you can use one container with different patterns and volumes of watering holes.

Hopefully this has been helpful in showing you how to make a watering can that will suit your needs in your garden and yard.

More to come soon.

to make smaller holes without a smaller drill bit you could use small pins or sewing needles, heat them up untill they are red hot and use them to puncture the holes needed.
