Picture of How To Make Paper Roses
Who doesn't love roses?  Following the directions in this instructable, you can make one, three or a dozen roses. I made one rose out of kraft paper from a recycled/reused grocery bag, so the craft is very frugal in it's demands.

Step 1: Gather Supplies and Tools

Picture of Gather Supplies and Tools
Supplies and tools for this craft is very minimal. You need paper, scissors, glue, a pen or marker for drawing lines, a few clamps can be helpful, and that's about it.  The paper choices are unlimited, but I have used: watercolor paper, cardstock, regular and colored bond paper, kraft paper from grocery bags, etc.  I don't recommend tissue paper as I have not used it and believe it is in a class of it's own.

HOW BEAUTIFUL. HOW Did you do the multicolored butterfly one?

Creativeman (author)  CheenieS8 days ago

Thanks, not sure what you are referring to? Butterflies are just made from colored paper, may or may not touch up with acrylic paint, depending on use. templates can be found on line, although free handing always works!

Awesome, I'm going to make one for my friend

These are beautiful, I think they would make a lovely wedding bouquet, I'm thinking of experimenting with different fabrics and add in details like buttons and ribbon petals

This was amazing, the smile that is on my face is much bigger than this : ) and the rose i just made using your very clear steps looks wonderfully close to a real one! I am very thankful to you : )
I tried using vintage sheet music and pages in German from torn up books that I got at a 10 cent library sale! it looks so cool! thanks for the technique!
Love that idea. I did something similar years ago. :)

that is absolutely beautiful. i just can't do it :( i'm not able to, i can't to it with those 3 pieces it doesn't turn out the same, but i really really R3ALLV wish it did. sigh. for step 5, you just glue them together? no base or anything. cuz in the pic, some of them look like you glue them to a base of some sory
I envy you for your creativity.. loved it 5 stars! =)
i love these flowers, and i love the additional idea to glue fabric on top of the paper for even more realistic flowers!

but can you show exactly how you made the stems, and especially how you conjoined the blossom to the stem?

Very nice!

(Maybe, for the beginners out there, you could add a JPG or PDF of all the shapes needed to make a single rose?  Readers could print, cut, and follow your instructions.)

What's the process for converting a drawing to pdf?  Thanks, Cman
I put the images into a word-processor document, then there is a save as PDF option.

If you are using Word, I think there's a bit of software you can download to add the option to the save menu.

might be easier - nothing to install

I second that!  I love this project, but have no idea the shapes.  A PDF of the shapes would make it possible for me.
