Hey Instructablers! In this "ibile" we are going to be making cool pop color photos. Their are many applications on the internet to download for free that work well. In this instructable I will be using a program called iSplash. This program is around 2 bucks on the Mac App Store. If you use Windows there here are several options that are probably much better than the program that I used. And free!!! These are just a few that I have found. Step 1: Upload Picture

Open up your choice photo editing software and find a button or tool that says upload. It should take you straight to a your picture library. If not then you can find the picture that you want and drag and drop it in the editing area. Make sure that your picture is ideal for popping out the colors. You want the camera focused on something that is bright. Like sparkly eyes or a bright yellow flower. Now on to the photo editing process!

Step 2: Add or Subtract Color

All that my program does is take the image convert it to black and white and let you add back the color. The software I used has two choices, Color Splash or Grey Splash. This simply means that you can add color to the photo or add grey to the photo.
Start coloring around the inside edges of the object you wish to make pop. In my photo I wanted the Swoosh to be grey so I edged around that as well. I have found that using a bigger size brush helps because I move the brush around smoother and with less shaking. Smaller size brushes "shake" more to me. Another way to help is to slow down the tracking speed of your mouse or trackpad in settings. This can help tremendously if you are having trouble moving the mouse too fast.
After you have filled in the edges, start filling in the center of your object. This obviously can be done pretty quickly even if your object is small. After you have finished filling in the center, look for small blemishes on the outside edge of your object. There will probably be some in the middle as well if you brushed that area over pretty quickly.

Step 3:

Once you are satisfied with your end result save it to your hard drive.
When I click save iSplash tells me that there is a duplicate photo. Sometimes I rename the pic but that takes a lot of creative thinking. You'll want to be able to remember the file name for your awesome new pop color photo! Usually though, I just replace my new picture with the old one. The pop photo looks cooler any way!
