Picture of How to Make the Skylancer Paper Airplane

Fast, long range and simple, the Skylancer is a small paper airplane well suited as an fighter-interceptor. The Skylancer is a great interim choice for aviators, and can be used to supplant and/or replace the similar, but more complex Stratoceptor.

TAA USAF Designation: F231-1

Fold one corner of your paper to the edge of the opposite side. Then open and repeat on the other side. Then pull the top half of the X onto the bottom half.

Step 3: Cover Folding

Tuck the paper in under itself. The pictures represents what the paper should appear like.

Step 4: Security Folding

Pull the edges of the cover folds up to the front as pictured. Then unfold them. Pull the leading edges of the cover fold back inwards toward the center. Then tuck the over hanging triangles under the airfoil. This completes the security fold.

Step 5: Wing Folding

Pull the tip of the nose back to the crease made by refolding the cover fold. Then fold the airplane up in half along its center crease. After this is done, fold the wings down along the security fold.

Step 6: Taping

Tape your Skylancer at its front, back and across its wing root near the rear.

Step 7: Flight

Picture of Flight

Like most other darts, the Skylancer paper airplane is a fast, long range paper airplane. At launch, give your Skylancer a moderate to high speed throw for the fastest, longest range flights. The nose's fold also enables catapult launches. Additional surfaces applicable to this airframe include flaps, elevators, ailerons, elevons, rudders, an electronic warfare tail, air brakes, slats and ventral fins. Enjoy!
