My string was fishing line. You can use what you like, I just had line around my house. Cut a lenght of string. Tie a knot with both ends in it to make a loop. (1st picture) Then place the knoted end into the top of the pine cone. Hot glue it there.

next time do you think it would be less messy to hot glue first before u add peanut butter and seeds or does it not make much of a difference?
