A fun thing to do in the garden is to paint various animals on rocks and place them strategically in various garden spots.

Step 1: Gather Your Rocks

The best rocks to use for this craft are very smooth "river rocks".  Rocks that have been polished over time by eons of water rushing over them. The goal is to have a very smooth surface on which to paint.  Semi-smooth rocks can be used, but will require more finese in the painting process. Try to pick rocks that resemble your cat, or mouse, or dog, etc.

Nice work! Do you need any rocks? We have a ton! Just wish I was as talented as you or I would not be offering any.

Our back yard has a lot because my husband had big plans but he is very tired now and talks about getting rid of them. We are using some for the retaining wall though. We actually haulded them in. Here a little and there a little. Too bad they are not in Tx . where we will be moving in a few months or year??? We could use them there. Too much stuff to move already. .

These are great. Personally, I wouldn't place them in full view, but just as something you'd come on unexpectedly in the garden, partly hidden by foliage. (My artistic skills are nothing like yours, but I may have a go at a small toad sometime during the summer.)
