We actually kind of saw it as an excuse to make a mess but that's good information for when a mess would be a less than ideal.

I used to work for sprint, every week we would get new window decal/stickers to put up. I find that if you clean the glass first with windex, then soak the area you want to apply the sticker with windex and put the sticker on top, then wipe the extra windex off with a squeegee, you can have a sticker up in 3 minutes and not make too much of a mess.
