emerson...as i have mentioned in a few comments already....it was not meant to be taken so seriously....was supposed to hold a small comedic quality....which was not to be homophobic in any way....they were all just things i have heard from friends and things that i, myself have encountered!...hope you dont get banned...criticism is always appreciated...good or bad....either help for future work!

Fella, the best humour has an element of truth in it. Straight people tend to be a little "homophobic" for want of a better word. If you're utterly, utterly straight then the thought of spooning with another guy would make you go "eek", even if you're not a rampant nazi gay-hater. Hence, the move from the simple, safe advice of section 1 to "Don't Spoon" is jarring and funny. Hell, why am I explaining your humour to you? You got it right. Spot on. Safe, sensible advice to the slightly silly "Don't spoon" followed by the jump to "sleep in separate rooms". It ain't classic, but it made me giggle for all the right reasons. Anyone reading too much into this really needs to start checking their own outlook on life. Getting offended too easily is a great way to lose your sense of humour entirely. And to the person who mentioned Planes, Trains... ah, one of the two funny scenes in the entire film. "That's not the pillow" :)

I think part of Instructable thinking is to share your own opinion and beliefs without anyone calling it BS right out. Constructive criticism is fine, but attacking certain beliefs simply because you think they're wrong isn't progressive.

Yes .. and that is why this instructable is counterproductive. It is just a joke based on the outmoded belief that 1. Men must be taught how to act, lest we become raving homosexuals (why that would be bad, I don't know), and 2. That women cannot be intimate since they have no penis. 3. That a man and woman cannot simply be friends and must be virtually pounded by rules lest they have premarrital sex. I applaud the joke for putting the finger on an important issue and it's great to see so many get upset by this.

Hi I'm a little new here. I havn't made an instructable yet and only commented on a few things. I just wanted to throw my two cents in. I get it, i thought it was funny. Folks, its like this, if you are unable to laugh at yourself or the foolishness of others, whats the point. regardless of whether your gay or straight. You should look for humor in all things. It seems to me that it was not a hateful post. insensitive maybe, however nothing to be even irritated by. I will give you an example of bigotry and hate. Me and my mother were kicked out of a store, because we are muslim and she was wearing the traditional head covering that she has worn in the united states for thirty years with no problem. All the sudden we got throw out (well I made a scene) people who nit pick simple things have a questionable view of hardship and the world. my two cents
