Introduction: How to Solder With a Soldering Pen

Picture of How to Solder With a Soldering Pen

Step 1: Materials

Picture of Materials

Solder pen
Rosin core solder
Moist sponge
Well ventilated area, outside is best
Moist sponge you won't use for anything else, because of the led in the solder

Step 2: Getting Started

Picture of Getting Started

First get your item you want to solder.
Second make you have that moist sponge ready and plug that solder pen in, set the iron on the sponge or in its stand if you have one.
Third wait for the soldering pen (or iron) to be hot enough to melt the solder.
Last but not least, go ahead and melt the solder onto your item, reconnecting the broken connection or making a new one, do not worry if you are sloppy, just don't cross the connections, keep them separate.
And be safe, the fumes are toxic, and the soldering iron is hot DISCLAIMER I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU INJUR YOURSELF OR OTHERS WHILE DOING THIS PROJECT SO DO NOY TRY TO PRESS CHARGES ON ME IF YOU ARE HURT I DID NOT TELL YOU TO DO THIS I SIMPLY TOLD oYOU HOW.

Step 3: Things to Keep in Mind

You are handling led in this project, it would be smart to wash your hands after
You are using EXTREMELY hot objects, do not touch the iron or solder unless you want to get burnt
Use common sense
And I am here to help you the best I can, so ask me something in the comments if you are confused
Feel free to let me know what you thought of this project in the comments.

You should probably explain the characteristics of the various tips shapes and their uses.

(No confusion, just leaving something to add)

Confused?
Q: how do I make a proper connection?
A: match things up, such as blue wire with blue wire to blue wire, red to red, copper to copper, and so on.
Q: How do I prepare my wires for soldering?
A: Get some wire cutters and strip a bit of of the Insulation off if you need to.
And you ask me whatever I missed.
