How To Solve A Rubik's Cube!

How To Solve A Rubik\
This instructable will teach YOU how to solve a Rubik's cube!

I will also teach you algorithms that will enable you to make your cube "pretty", which will impress people!

Note: This is only ONE algorithm, although it is applicable to ANY "situation" that can be presented to you on the cube.

Materials:
1 Rubik's Cube
1 Good Memory (if you want to impress people)
1 Sack Load of Patience

Subnote: This method took me 3 days to master, and a week to perfect, working on it about 4 hours a day. I can now solve a cube in under X3X X2.4X 1.37 minutes. (Look Below)

Step 1Getting it all messed up! (use when necessary)

Getting it all messed up! (use when necessary)
Pretty much just scramble up the cube.

-Don't turn any one side more than twice in a row, then you're being inefficient.
-Don't turn two edge sides the same way, you could have just turned the middle section
-Don't turn only one or two faces, rotate the cube while scrambling to get a better scramble
-If you want the best scramble, scramble the middle rows and columns, that tends to make the solution take longer.

this is actually not the perfect way solving cube .....the writer has just tried to modify the original and described in his own method ... once you leanr to solve it you will have your own million ways of solving it ...

How some people do this in minutes is beyond me !

in the first picture, the arrows show you which algorithm you have to use. however, they are paired incorrectly.

I have a problem. all of my corners but two are in the correct spots facing the correct directions. these two are on non-consecutive corners. they are switched so that it looks like this:

I'm not sure if you guys noticed, but step 5 is wrong

I've been following the steps, and on step 5, when turning to the right, one of the steps is wrong, its actually
D'R'DRDFD'F' instead of D'R'DRDFDF'

what you say man is too complicated.i don't even understand the moves.what's the difference between R and R' what does this ' mean?
Jul 15, 2009. 11:49 AMbman214 says:
' means inverted R means right 90 degrees CLOCKWISE R' means right 90 degrees COUNTER-CLOCKWISE You're Welcome What directions are M and E. Is M up and E right

If the notation of the moves in confusing check out http://www.rubiks-cube-solution.com . It shows the moves with pictures and arrows. I love this Instructable though.

all he did was get the finished rubixs cube and messed it up with his feet and reversed the video
May 16, 2009. 1:46 PMvikings84 says:
To get this look, just turn the two outside columns up twice and turn 1/4 turn clockwise and continue until you get the wonderful checkers! then, just do the opposite to solve it... outside two columns turned down twice, 1/4 turn COUNTER-clockwise and continue until its solved! :)
May 16, 2009. 1:44 PMvikings84 says:
In order to get this look to the Cube, all you have to do is move the middle column (doesnt matter what color) up once and rotate the cube 1/4 turn clockwise until you get the centerpiece look to it. you can only do this when the cube is solve, by the way. anyways, to undo this, just pick a side, rotate the middle column DOWN and turn 1/4 turn COUNTER-clockwise until the cube is solved.
May 10, 2009. 9:36 AMlaofmoonster says:
There's an inaccuracy in the first cube example... compare to http://www.chessandpoker.com/rubiks-cube-solution.html step 5... it's slightly different
May 10, 2009. 9:41 AMlaofmoonster says:
Also, there's a step missing here, see step 6 from the same link
May 10, 2009. 8:47 AMlaofmoonster says:
This was confusing at first. The algorithm switches "1" with the "2" on the left, not the one on the right.
