Okay, so now you have either one of two situations:

- The Fish Pattern (The correctly colored top pieces make the top of the cube look like a fish

-The "H"* Pattern (The correctly colored top pieces make the top of the cube look like an "H"
*Note: You hold the cube so that it looks like an "I", so it should really be called the "I" Pattern.

For either pattern, follow the corresponding algorithm. If you'll notice, they're quite similar. This makes it a bit easier to remember both of them.

YOU'RE DONE!

Now gloat to all your friends, show off how smart you are, but most importantly, PRACTICE!

The faster you get, the better it looks!

This is also not the only way to solve a Rubik's cube, so you can experiment, create your own algorithms, be creative!

A couple of fancy things I figured out are in the next two steps.

i like your tutorial except for the patterns, it's too hard to remember both i use a more repetitive solution

I should add that my two favorite patterns to put my cube in use this "H" pattern on multiple faces. If you use it twice on U, with a 90* rotation between patterns and then do the same to D, and lastly do the same to the E row on both R and L, you will have every edge piece in the correct location but with the wrong orientation.

As an improvement to your Dedmore "H" Pattern line up the Top Face (U) so that you get an "H" on top while looking at the face. Then use the following algorithm: M' U' M' U' M' U' U' M U' M U' M U' U'. All U' turns can be replaced with U, but U' is easier for me to turn quickly as a right handed cuber. The way I solve the cube, I don't ever get the "Fish" pattern. I believe my algorithm is also known as the Rubik's Maneuver.
