I have heard that capacitors can be deadly.I dont think that their that bad.I have zapped myself quiet a few times with filter caps and even once from a high voltage cap from a microwave.Hey they hurt  and can get the pusle up but they wont kill you,but then again i am a robot..Its not that im not aware of the dangers, but i have been known to be a little careless when working on stuff.Although i must admit i am trying to be a little more patient now and make sure i discharge everything now a days, before working on equipment.
But what i am trying to say is if you do zapp yourself, dont panic.if your alive and awake after the zapping you will probably be ok.Remember to unplug from mains ,if you get across that you may be dead .I think Ac is worse for your heart than DC,and if you ground out thats bad too.I dont think my zappings have grounded because i havnt felt it go right through me.
By now and remember when working with electronics, dont rush things and stay isolated from mains at all costs.

line filters are used to reduce common and some times differential mode currents that exit to the power line through conducted emissions. Now lets talk about you suggestion to modify the magnetron what you talk about is possible but you have to scale the metal leafs and size of the magnetron cavity to the frequency you wish to use and construct and director for the radiation so as to focus it and not cook your self as well. O by the way using the magnetron outside a shielded box could possibly be seen be the FCC as using a form of spark gap transmitter which is illegal in the US and any frequency you run through this is regulated heavily
