Introduction: How-To Make Creative-festive Party Lamps!

Using this method, you can turn some basic house-hold items just lying around into something cool for your home!

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

1 glass jar (We’re using a 32 ounce jar)
1 standard strand decorative lights
3 similar shades of FolkArt Metallic Acrylic Paint
1 stiff bristle paint brush (but any paintbrush is fine)
Newspaper (just to keep your workstation paint-free)

Step 2:

Paint the jar with the darkest shade of paint you chose. This is necessary for the proper effect of the light at the end of the project.
Allow at least 20 minutes to dry.

Step 3:

Choose one of the remaining shades of paint and go over the base color entirely, but just enough that you can still see the base paint. Allow a drying time of 20 minutes.

Step 4:

Using your last shade of paint, drop the paint around the outside of the jar and let it flow as to look like melted candle wax. Allow at least 45 minutes to dry.

Step 5:

Place the entire stand of lights inside the jar. Don’t worry it will all fit. Wrap half the lights around your hand and feed them through the opening of the jar. You may have to squeeze the lights to fit into the opening of the jar. To finish this step, just start compacting the rest of the lights into the jar up until the last light.

Remove just enough light strand to plug the lamp in.

Step 6:

Turn the lamp upside down.

Step 7:

Plug the lamp in and you're done!
