How To stop Oil Cans Leaking

How To stop Oil Cans Leaking
I recently bought a oil can from Ebay when I recieved it i filled it up with 20w 50 motor oil,A few days later all the bottom of my shelf was oily and there was only one cause for it The oil can had leaked.
I thought Long and hard about how to stop the leak,I used rubber O-rings and found i couldnt get one to fit,I also tried uting calulking round the top of the oil resovoir to make a O-ring and found that the oil escaped by rotting the silicone so My final Suggestion was to wrap the threads in PTFE Thread seal tape and Guess what, It worked heres how i did it.....

That's very well done. A lot of people would just put up with it rather than have the intellectual capacity to do a fix. Good job.

It's simple but useful. Way (1000x) better that "download this" for example.

It's much better (as something you did) than an Instructable that says "go to this site download this and click buttons". You actually made the effort to post something worthwhile, which is exactly what the whole thing is about.

Interesting and clever.  I cannot remember that my oil cans leak.  Only one of the three is a pumper, though.  Thank you for your Instructable.
