Does anyone have other ideas for waterproofing the castle? do you think verathane would work?

I guess if you don't want to use the rivets??? Packing tape works just as good...
Then if you want to water proof it, you can paint it with fiberglass resin <- waterproofs almost anything!!!

I have never heard of box rivits and think this is a win/win post! Yes, a few sales may be made, but you've also given us something in return with the free plans. - Not to mention all the other fun things that come to mind that I could do with something like this (I'm thinking - giant cardboard maze!)

Oh wow, my son and daughter would have a blast with this. It would have to go outside however,so it wouldent last lond after it rained a couple of times. Is there a way to waterproof cardboard???

I don't think this is spam but it does read like a giant advertisement. But the product seems pretty cool and I'll keep it in mind if I decide to make something out of cardboard. Otherwise, this is a really cool instructable and the castle reminds me of this big cardboard castle we had in my third grade class. :) Also... Psh. Duct tape looks cooler. :P Not to mention you can make so many other things with duct tape.

Tape the edges of the card board with duck tape to seal them, then spray the cardboard with an automotive primer let it dry and then paint with a outdoor latex paint like you would use on your house, it should last quite a while
