In this tutorial, you will learn how to properly make, and present cheddar biscuits in the best possible way for any situation.

Step 1: Materials

For the biscuits:

Cooking spray 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons baking powder 2 1/2 teaspoons sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons vegetable shortening, at room temperature 4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces 6 ounces grated yellow cheddar cheese (about 1 1/4 cups) 3/4 cup whole milk

For the garlic butter:

3 tablespoons unsalted butter 1 clove garlic, smashed 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley

Step 2: Preparation

First things first, you need to prep all your tools for you to use. You need to preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Take your large baking pan/sheet and apply a light coat of Pam butter spray. Then position your rack in oven to top third of the oven. Make sure you have all ingredients that are required for this dish and all the materials that you need to cook. The most important thing you need to get ready is a bunch of hungry people ready to eat. Once all that is done, and everything looks good, its time to start cooking.

Step 3: Making the Biscutes

Make the biscuits: Pulse the flour, baking powder, sugar
and salt in a food processor. Add the shortening and pulse until combined. Add the butter; pulse 4 or 5 times, or until the butter is in pea-size pieces. Add the cheese and pulse 2 or 3 times. Pour in the milk and pulse just until the mixture is moistened and forms a shaggy dough. Turn out onto a clean surface and gently knead until the dough comes together. Do not overwork the dough or the biscuits will be tough.

Drop the dough onto the baking sheet in scant 1/4-cup portions, 2 inches apart, and bake until golden, 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 4: Making the Butter

Meanwhile, make the garlic butter: Melt the butter with the garlic in a
small saucepan over medium heat; cook for 1 minute. Remove from the heat and stir in the parsley. Brush the biscuits with the garlic butter and serve warm. Be careful not to make this too soon as the butter will become to thick and cold if let out to long. So be sure to make the butter when the biscuits are almost done. Once you start to season the biscuits make sure to coat every biscuit until all the butter is gone for that extra, delicious flavor.

Step 5: Plating Your Cheddar Biscuits

Now that you have delicious cheddar biscuits all made and buttered, all you need to do is make it look as good as it tastes. That may seem impossible but i assure you that it is a lot easier than it seems. First get a platter that has a design that you enjoy and place about five to six on the platter in a ring pattern with one in the middle. Make sure that all biscuits are about the same distance apart from each other to make it symmetrical. Be sure that you are able to see all biscuits from all angles so that it both looks good and you can see if anybody is stealing them.

Step 6: Clean Up

Now comes the part no one likes to do, the clean up. But it is something that needs to get done so might as well get it out of the way while the biscuits are cooling. Take all your dishes that you have used and put them in the sink or around the sink just to keep your self organized. Then take all the extra ingredients and put them away so that they can be reused in the future. Once this is done begin to hand wash the dishes since there are not that meany and wipe down the counters. After all that call it a day.

Step 7: Enjoy

After the hard part comes the best part, eating all the cheddar biscuits! You can be selfish and keep them all to yourself or you can share them with all your friends and family at gatherings and parties. Who knows you might even be able to impress everyone you know with your awesome cooking ability and finally have all your cheddar biscuit dreams come true. Whatever you decide i know you will love these and i do hope you enjoyed this little tutorial i have put together for you. I hope you have a super wonderful rest of your day.
