Introduction: How to Create a Character in World of Warcraft and Play the Game.
This instructable will lead you on how to log in and play the most infamous online game World of Warcraft.
World of Warcraft is a massive multiplier online role-playing game (MMORPG) by the infamous gaming company Blizzard Entertainment. It has been an extraordinary success since its launch in November 2004. It has impressed game critics and has captivated millions of players, who adore the world that the game has created.
To be able to play this game you will need the following:
1- Age above 12.
2- Creating an account in their website
3- Purchasing the standard game and the following expansions.
4- Downloading the game.
Step 1: Verification and Creating of the Account.
Verify that your computer meets the system requirements, and then purchase and download the World of Warcraft basic game. Expansion packs, such as The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King provide additional content, but are not required to play. It is also possible to play using a trial version, but they come with significant limitations, and only last 10-14 days
*You can do that by going to their website "www.wow-europe.com"
then "Create Account" on the top right of their page.
*After the creation of the account. The website will direct you the download page and you should choose weather you want the PC or the MAC version of the game. Then you should download it
I am not going over steps on how to create the account assuming it's easy and this is "how to play the game tutorial" .
Step 2: Getting Started (Logging In)
Once you have created the account, you will be provided by a Username and a Password to be able to log in the game.
Open the game folder in your computer, and run the file "Wow"
The game will show up and ask you to enter a username and a password.
Enter your username and password to be able to log in.
Step 3: Choosing the Server.
When you log in, you will be prompted to select a server from the following types:
*Normal (The standard game. Most players choose this option)
*PVP (The standard game is modified in that Player versus Player combat can occur at any time)
*RP-PVP (A Player vs. Player server that follows role-playing rules)
So, go head and choose the server you like to play in, while doing that you should consider the population of the server. Unless you have a friend on an existing server, "Medium" populated realms are recommended because they are neither deserted nor overcrowded.
Step 4: Choose the Faction and the Class You Want to Play.
After choosing the server, now the fun begins. click on it and it will transfer you the realm.
Click Create New Character, located on the low right side of the page.
You should choose your faction, This game contains 2 (against each other) factions. Horde and Alliance.
Horde contain 7 different races and alliance have 7 different races as well.
So on the side bar on the left, select the faction and the race you want to play.
Step 5: Select Your Class and Gender.
The game also have 11 different classes.
Click on each one of those classes that are available for your race and you can read the class's specialty . They are located on the right side of the screen.
Go head and choose the class you want.
Just for future references I chose Draenei Hunter.
You can also choose the gender of your avatar (Male,Female) located on the top left corner of the screen.
Hit Customize whenever you are ready.
Step 6: Customize Your Character and CHOOSE the Name.
Now Go head and click on the parts of your character that you want to customize. You will find that on a side bar on the left corner of the screen.
After you click for example Skin color, choose one of the faces that are located on your right hand. And so on with the hair style, hair color and Facial Hair.
After that choose the name of your avatar, enter the name in the box bellow your character.
Then Hit the button Finish so the game transfer you from the customization page.
Step 7: Enter the World !
This screen will show up and you should hit "Enter World" whenever you are ready.
Step 8: Inside the Game
Once you are in the game world, take some time to get acquainted with the user interface.
There is an Action bar (where your spells are located) you can earthier try to click on the first spell or click (1) in your keyboard .
Your health bar is located on the upper left corner, so keep an eye on that.
Use the arrows up, down, left, right to move wherever you like to.
lick the bag shaped icon on your very down right side or press the "B" from your keyboard to open your bags.
Step 9: Taking the First Quest.
To get started, Notice that you are level one, you can check that by looking under your face which is located right next to the health bar on the upper left side corner of your screen.
To be able to level up, you should take and complete quests.
Quests can be taken from everywhere and you can indicate the quest givers by the exclamation mark above their heads just as shown below.
Get next to the guy and right click on him and a quest will show up, read the requirements and hit accept.
Step 10: How to Complete the First Quest
Press the "M" in your keyboard to get access to the map, you will notice the yellow Question mark in your map, that is where the quest objective is located.
Move your character to that place and do the objective of this quest. ( In this case you will have to speak with a guy names Propenitus).
You can always close your map by pressing "M" in your keyboard.
Step 11: Completing the First Quest.
After you find the guy named Proenitus, talk to him to be able to turn in the quest to be able to collect the Rewards.
In this case your reward will be amount of Experience.
To be able to level up you need to complete quests with different objectives. you can always look in the mini map located on the upper right for quests and they will show as "extermination marks".
Hit complete Quest.
After you do that, the Experiences bar that I marked will start to fill. and you will level up after it completely filled out
Step 12: Now You Are on Your Own !
After filling the experience bar from completing the quests. you should LEVEL UP !
Officially, you are a WoW player now and you can continue you adventure. But Lastly I will provide you with few useful tips:
1- While travelling, kill any monster that is two levels higher than your level. The experience will help.
2-Before going to the next zone, try to complete every quest in the current zone
3-You can add more action bars to your screen by opening up your options menu (esc), clicking 'interface', and opening up the 'Advanced' Tab.
4-Familarizing yourself with Warcraft lore can help you out with quests and make your gameplay more exciting. If you can, play Warcraft 3 and its expansion
