Have you ever purchased a great wig only to find out that it fit too tightly on your head? Unfortunately, wigs that are purchased from your local beauty supply are massed produced as one size fits all. So, the fit varies from person to person.

Now you can buy the wig of your choice, take it home and modify the size of the cap! This video will demonstrate how to easily modify an elastic band wig cap.

Thank you so much for this video. Do to illness I've lost 3/4 of my hair. My hair is very long and my husband wants it to stay long so I've invested in long wigs. I've had a very hard time trying to figure out how to put on the full head ones. Thank you for your detailed instructions. You are a great teacher!

thank you so so much for this! Every wig I get is too tight and they end up in the Halloween box matted in a ball! This is AWESOME and I'm going to try it out tomorrow!!

This was very helpful but i do have one more question. I made a wig myself but the dome cap is too small. Do i still just add 1 inch of elastic? What if i need more? Where can i get the elastic band?

That's genius! It gives the wig that little extra stretch without it going too far and tearing :)

Yes, the size of my head tends to be much bigger because of the braids underneath, so I always find myself modifying my wig caps.

Thank you for sharing this, and welcome to instructables!
