These are troubling times. And we all need to feel good about ourselves once in a while, if not all the time. And so, I have put in this Instructable with things I have learned and experienced. So lets read farther on to learn how to feel Great About Yourself.
Step 1: Don't put any mind controlling substances into your body
This includes ALL illegal drugs, and anything that can be used to get a "High". Because after a high comes a low, and its hard to feel good when you have that low. Some other things that this includes could be some spray paints, overdoses of prescription medications, alcohol, and smoking. Even too much caffeine can be "addicting" and ultimately make you feel worse about yourself.
Step 2: Chose to be Happy
You can't feel good about yourself unless you chose to feel good. It's so obvious, yet very few people actually make that "without a doubt" conscious decision to be happy. When you start feeling sad, tell yourself that you don't want to feel sad or like a failure, you want to feel good about yourself. This doesn't mean that you can't be sad ever, because if you don't know what sorrow is you don't know what happiness is. The reason this was not number one is because you can't control whether or not you are happy if you are taking any mind controlling substances.
Step 3: Treat failure as a learning Experience
Very simple, if you do something you wish you had not, don't do it again and you wont have that bad feeling that comes with it. But use common sense and don't do anything you will regret later.
Step 4: Work(or do stuff)
Work is good for you. It gives you money, and you feel better about yourself. But if you treat work as a bad thing(back to that Choose to be Happy step), you will not feel good about yourself when you are done. But if you treat work as a good thing, or even if you are neutral about work, you will have a very successful feeling inside when you are done. Life, though, should not be dominated by work. When you aren't working, go out and do something physical. Or build something. If you are feeling down in the dumps, make the next generation of duct tape clothes, or jog for ten minutes thinking about all that you have been blessed with. Reading is also a good thing to do, (I am saying read things like Alice in Wonderland, and the Chronicles of Narnia, all the classics). I am not going to give you some high tech study someone had done showing reading is better than watching TV, just when I have finished reading one of the classics, I feel way better than when I have watched the movie.
Step 5: Have a Religion
If you have something to live for, than you will have a better life. I am going to leave it at that and please, keep the comments clean and neutral on this matter.
