uhuh...it's definitely one of those things that make you go "hmmmm"
just a lot of searching (on the internet)..thought it would make an entertaining video for others and spark interest/debate on this relatively new feature of Google Earth. Thank you kindly!

The newest version(4.3 I believe), which is free to install by the way, has layer options on the lower left side of the screen called "layers". Options include roads, places of interest, borders and labels, 3D buildings, etc. "Street View" is one of those options. Enable that and you will then see camera icons on your screen as shown in this video. If you follow the directions in the video precisely, you will see this for yourself. It's very fun to play around with this feature..such an amazing program really :) I hope this answers your question. If not, message me and I'll try to help you further.
