How to JTAG your Xbox 360 and run homebrew

Step 7Getting your CPU key

Getting your CPU key
Reassemble your 360, and boot your 360 with the DVD drive ejected.  Or if you don't have a DVD drive you can plug in a wired controller into the back usb port.

You should see a blue screen pop up and whole bunch of things fly by.  When it says CPU fuses, your either going to want to write really fast or snap a picture.

fuseset 3 and 5 or 4 and 6 is your cpu key.

So if it said
fuseset 03: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
fuseset 05: yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

My CPU key would be xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

It should 32 characters.

I followed all the steps perfectly. Got the whole thing flashed. Before reassembling, I connected the power supply and a/v cables to the tv and attempted to boot, just to make sure it worked. However, I got three flashing red lights. I wasn't sure if it was due to the cables still being hooked up so I snipped them, still red lights. Any idea?

i have a xenon, pre nand dumped, no wire, so i run a huge risk here...
anyway, i got this too (about 5 mins ago so idk if its solved permanately)
and i fixed it simply by rebooting xbox with disc drive closed, and with a bit of luck, opening it at the right time... it booted flawlessly.. (without xexloader or whatever it is)

my question: is it supposed to stop at "Listening on port [blah blah blah]"???

NO, its not an overheating issue, when I attempted the JTAG hack the same thing happened to me. It is a hiden error code that only appears as 3rrod. - its a programing issue so I would erase the nand and flash the original back th the console.

If you get a back flash you will see the 3rrod, It's not a real 3rrod though it just means that your flashing did not go well. I suggest reflashing the jtag nand (not original) again. Make sure you are using the correct nand for your motherboard and be sure that you add the kv and config info from your original nand file or you will get another rrod when you flash. I did it and everything worked fine for me. I'm doing my 2nd jtag now and it's even easier going then the first time. Hardest part for me is the soldering, it can be tricky because of the small holes that you have to solder your wires into, but just make sure you don't get no solder where it's not supposed to be and you will be fine.
