Picture of How to Make Beef Stew in the Crock Pot
Today I'm going to be showing you how to make beef stew in the crock pot. This is a very easy recipe anyone can make. It's perfect for weekdays when you don't have a lot of time to spend cooking. Just add the ingredients to the crock pot,  cook on low 8-12 hours, then enjoy.

Step 1: Ingredients you will need

This is a very simple, cheap recipe to make. You will need....

• 2 pounds cubed stew beef
• 1/4 cup red or white wine (I feel that red tastes and looks better in this stew)
• 1 can cream of mushroom soup
• 1 can mushroom stems and pieces
• 1 envelope Lipton soup mix
• 1 package of egg noodles (optional)

Step 2: Add Lipton Soup Mix to Crock Pot

Now add all the ingredients (except egg noodles) to crock pot. I started by adding the Lipton Soup Mix

Step 3: Add Red Wine

Next I like to add the red wine. I do it this way so my soup mix and wine can blend together easier. This way the soup mix doesn't clump up together.

Step 4: Add Mushroom Stems and Pieces

Next step is to add the can of mushrooms stems and pieces.

Step 5: Add Cream of Mushroom Soup

Next use a spatula to get all of the Cream of Mushroom Soup out of the can and into the crock pot.

Step 6: Add Cubed Stew Beef

Now add  two pounds of cubed stew beef to the mixture. I add the beef last because it is bulky and it's so much easier to mix everything together before it's added.

Step 7: Cook on Low 8-12 Hours

Cover and cook on low for 8-12 hours.

Step 8: *Optional, Boil Water for Noodles

This step isn't necessary, but it really does enhance the stew. Boil water in deep sided pan. Cook noodles in boiling water 7-10 minutes or until tender.

Step 9: Time to Eat!

Strain noodles and spoon stew over the top. I like to garnish stew with fresh herbs, this picture has some thyme sprinkled on top. It's winter right now otherwise I would use fresh rosemary from my garden. Hope you enjoy my easy Beef Stew recipe.

to add more flavor to your stew, I would suggest you pan fry the beef cube before adding them to the mixture. Also use half your wine with the soup base and use the other half to deglaze the pan you cooked the meet in then add that to the crockpot. it adds a lot of depth to the flavor of the stew.
i second this remark. most of your "depth" flavors come from the browning of your meat. when you deglaze, you get the good bits in there, too. just talking about it is making my mouth water as we speak.

Can I cook it with Vermouth? It is white wine too :)
