Introduction: How to Make Heart Shaped Cupcakes - Valentines Day Surprise

Beautiful heart shaped cupcakes for your loved one this Valentine's day.

Step 1: Watch This Easy to Follow Video Guide

Full instructions and decoration ideas shown in the video.

What You Need:

1) Mixing Bowl
2) Wooden Spoon
3) Ingredients (Butter, Sugar, Eggs, Flour, Baking Powder, Salt, Milk)
4) Cupcake / Muffin Tray
5) Paper Cases
6) Tin Foil
7) Icing
8) Food Coloring
9) Rolling Pin
10) Heart Cutters

This tutorial focuses on the shaping and decoration of the cakes and not the ingredients or process of making the mixture.

Step 2:

Use your favorite cake recipe and get the mixture ready.

Step 3:

Insert the paper cupcake cases into the tray, and fill about half full with cake mixture. You can use pink or red cases if you prefer.

Step 4:

Take a strip of tin foil and roll it into a ball. If you're making twelve cupcakes like I did, you'll need twelve foil balls.

Step 5:

Hold back the paper case and tuck the foil ball between the tin and the case. Do this for all your cupcakes. This is how we form the heart shape.

Step 6:

Once you've done this with all your cupcakes, place the tray carefully in the oven and bake as per your recipe.

Step 7:

Once they're baked, place them on a rack and let them cool.

Step 8:

The final stage is to decorate them in any way you like. Be creative and see what you come up with. I used colored icing and different sized heart cutters.

More decorative ideas can be found in the video tutorial in Step 1.

These really pretty, you could probably do roughly the same thing for skull shaped cupcakes also??

I'm hoping to get more votes for The Whoopie Pie Mocktail, which is entered in the Homebrews and Cocktails competition, so please check it out by clicking on the link below!!
