Make sure your wood is sanded smooth all over.
Use the paper and pencil to trace around the smooth side of the little board,
so that you know where to put the blue painters tape.
Place strips of the blue painters tape around the edges. Be sure and press the tape down secure.
Make the chalk board paint by mixing 1part sand less grout with 8 parts paint (whatever color you want).
Mix them together until smooth.
Dip your sponge brush into the black board paint and spread it onto the smooth exposed side of the wood. Let it dry.
Remove the painters tape and use some smooth sand paper to remove any little lumps.
I used clear nail polish to paint over the uncovered edges and back of the board. Wait 15 minutes to let dry.

Prime the chalk board by rubbing the chalk stick across the dried paint. Before you use it, use a damp rag to remove the chalk. Let dry.
