Introduction: How to Make Orange Bread

In this instructable, I will show you how to make delicious Orange Bread.

Step 1: Ingredients

For this recipe, you will need:

2 c all-purpose flour

1/3 c butter

1/3 c powdered sugar

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

3/4 c sugar

1 c buttermilk

1 lemon

1 orange

2 eggs

Step 2: It's Graaaaaate!

Zest the orange.

Step 3: Does It Go to 11?

Using your electric mixer, beat the butter on high until it's fluffy.

Step 4: Time to Sweeten It Up

Add in the sugar and continue to mix on high for 2 minutes.

Step 5: 2 for One Step

Add the eggs in one at a time.

Step 6: It's Zestfully.......time to Add That Zest In.

Now blend in that orange zest.

Step 7: Getting Those Dry Ingredients Together.

Now in a separate blow, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.

Step 8: A Little of This, Then a Little of That, Then Back to a Little of This, Then Back to a Little of That...

Now alternate with adding the dry mixture, then the buttermilk both A LITTLE AT A TIME to the electric mixture until everything is mixed together.

Step 9: Almost Finished!

Spray a bread pan with nonstick cooking spray and pour the dough into the bread pan.

Step 10: Bake!

Cook in an oven that's been preheated to 350° for 45-50 minutes, or until it's done in the center.

Step 11: Cool Down!

Remove the bread pan from the oven and cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes.

Then remove the bread from the bread pan and cool on the wire rack for an additional 15 minutes.

Step 12: Yummy Glaze

To make the glaze, combine 1 tsp lemon juice, 1 tsp orange juice and the powdered sugar together.

Step 13: Nooks and Crannies

To make the glaze seep down into the bread a lot, you can poke tiny holes with a tooth pick before pouring the glaze on.

Step 14: Enjoy!
