## Introduction: How to Make Origami of Equilateral Triangles With Pockets on Each Sides

This instructable is made for school projects in Mathematics particularly the Geometry. Hands-on activity for your students in Math or yourself who loves paper folding.

This Equilateral triangle has three pockets of each edge. There is a reason for this. After learning this activity, and if you will check my future posts, you will discover how to make origami of the five Platonic Solids as well as hexagon and soccer ball using equilateral triangles.

Material:

A square piece of Paper

## Step 1: Square Paper.

A square paper means all edges or sides are equal in measure.

Start either front or back as you wish.

## Step 3: Fold Into Half.

Make a crease. This will be used for the next step.

## Step 4: Make a Triangle

Grab a corner of the square and place it on the crease in Step 3. Make a crease when the top right corner is folded properly. Look at image and compare your work.

## Step 5: Unfold

Check you paper for crease.

## Step 6: Do the Same

Make a second triangular fold to the other side. Refer to the previous steps.

## Step 7: Make a Crease.

Unfold. See image.

## Step 8: Fold Again. Find the Center of the Upper Edge

Your paper should look like the image above.

## Step 9: Flip Paper.

It should look like the image. If not redo the previous steps.

## Step 10: Fold in Half.

• Take the bottom corner and fold. It should lie on the midpoint of the upper edge. See image.
• Fold that extra part back as shown.

## Step 13: A Triangle!

But we are not done yet. The back part should be inserted to some pockets made when going through the steps.

## Step 16: An Equilateral Triangle!

Check for three pockets on the each sides or edges!

## Step 17: Congratulations!

Now, we can use these equilateral triangles in forming regular solids!
