Notes: 1. This recipe contains peanuts. Do not eat if you are allergic.
2. Puppy Chow is meant to be eaten by people, not dogs. Do not feed Puppy Chow
to your animals.
Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients and Tools
3/4 Cup of Peanut Butter
1 1/4 Cup of Chocolate Chips
1/4 Cup of Butter
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
9 Cups (or 13.8 ounces) of Rice Chex (crispix) or Honey Chex Cereal
3 Cups of Powdered Sugar
Collect your Tools:
1 Large Ziploc Bags (preferably the kind that have a slider to zip it shut)
1 Large Spoon
Step 2: Melt the Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Butter
If desired, soften the butter before microwaving by placing it in room temperature for 2-3 minutes.
Be sure to watch the ingredients in the microwave to make sure everything melts but does not burn or overspill.
Step 3: Stir Until Smooth
If the mixture is chunky after stirring, heat it in the microwave for another 15-30 seconds and stir again until smooth.
Step 4: Add Vanilla
Step 5: Pour the Chex and Mixture
Step 6: Stir It Together
It may not appear to have enough mixture, but keep stirring thoroughly for 3-5 minutes.
If the Chex is still not coated to the desired amount, melt an additional small bowl of chocolate, peanut butter, and butter and add it to the Chex.
Step 7: Scoop It Into a Bag
Step 8: Shake and Pour Out
Be sure to get the powdered sugar mixed in well at the bottom and corners of the bag. If desired, you can add more powdered sugar to the bag and shake it in.
