Introduction: How to Make Salsa

My mother has made this salsa for as long as I can remember and it has always been my favorite. It really is the best salsa for anyone in need for a fast and easy recipe.
This is a great addition to quesadillas, tacos, tamales, steak, or virtually anything you feel needs a little more spice.

Step 1: Ingredients and Equipment

Ingredients:

6 medium sized Tomatillos
3-4 California Chili Pods
7-8 Japanese Chili Pods
1 Tspn Garlic Salt
Salt as needed

These amounts can be changed depending on what you prefer the salsa to taste like. The California chilies add color and flavor, while the Japanese chilies that add the spice. Tomatillos help balance out the flavor and spice and thicken the salsa.

Equipment:

Knife
Cutting Board
Pot
Blender

Step 2: Prep

Remove the stems from the chili pods. They can be ripped or chopped off. It's okay if some of the seeds fall out but make sure that the seeds don't completely fall out; this is what adds the flavor.

Step 3: Prep

Remove the leafy shells from the tomatillos and wash them.

Step 4: Boiling

Boil the tomatillos, California and Japanese chili pods together in a pot.

Step 5: Blending

When the tomatillos have turned yellow green blend them with the garlic salt.

Step 6: Blending

You'll know the California and Japanese chilies are done when their shells are soft and flimsy. They will have to boil longer than the tomatillos
Blend them with the tomatillo mix.

Step 7: Just Add Salt!

Taste your salsa and add salt as needed. Usually a dash will do. Congratulations! All that's left is to enjoy your salsa.
