Use a cookie scoop to form uniform sausage balls.

Step 3: Shred Your Own Cheese and Use Parchment Paper Liner

Shred your own cheese. Packaged pre-shredded cheese is coated with cellulose so it won't clump together. Well, that also means your sausage balls won't stick together when formed also. Use parchment to line the pans so they don't stick.

Step 4:

2 cups baking mix (Bisquick, Pioneer Brand)

1 pound bulk pork sausage (regular or spicy)

10 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Add all ingredients to the bowl of a stand mixer and mix on low speed until combined.

Scoop equal portions using a cookie scoop onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet.

Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.

DO NOT OVERBAKE.

    Love the idea of using the mixer and scoop; however, the recipe I use and everyone asks for is: 2 lbs. sausage (use good quality), 2 cups Bisquick, 2 cups grated sharp cheddar. This ratio makes a great sausage ball.
