You will need:

-large saucepan

-measuring cup

-spoon

-cutting board

Ingredients:

1 ½ -2lb shrimp, peeled and deveined 1 can of diced tomatoes

¼ cup butter or margarine 8oz can tomato sauce

1 small onion, chopped 1 tablespoon of creole seasoning

¾ cup chopped celery ½ teaspoon salt

3/4 cup chopped green onions Parsley flakes (garnish)

¼ cup of flour 1 bag of jasmine rice

1 ½ cup of water

Shrimp Étouffée “smothered shrimp” is a creole southern dish that is great for any occasion and can me served year around.This recipe offers the complete way to customize an easy meal for picky eaters as well as giving you an easy way to introduce shrimp to non shrimp lovers. This step by step will show you how to make an easy yet delicious meal in a short time.

Step 1: Step 1. Peel and Devein Shrimp

Step 2: Step 2. on Cutting Board, Chop Onion, Celery, and Green Onions.

Step 4: Step 3. in Large Saucepan, Melt Butter; Add Onions Celery and Green Onions.

Cook for 5 minutes or until seasons are golden brown.

Step 5: Step 4. Add Flour; Stir Until Well Blended and Mixed.

Step 6: Step 5. Stir in Water, Tomatoes, Sauce, Creole Seasoning and Salt (season to Taste)

-Bring to boil, reduce heat and cover.

-Simmer 30 minutes, stir occasionally

Step 7: Step 6. Add Shrimp, Simmer for 5 Minutes or Longer or Until Shrimp Turn Pink

Step 8: How to Cook Rice

What you will need:

Medium sauce pan

Fork

bowl

Ingredients:

Jasmine Bag rice

Water

Step 9: Step 1. Pour 1 Quart of Water Into Medium Saucepan and Submerge 1 Bag of Rice

Bring to a boil uncovered for 8-10 minutes.

Step 10: Step 3. Remove Bag From Water With Fork and Drain

Step 11: Step 4. Empty Rice Into Serving Dish.

Step 12: Step 5: Spoon Shrimp Étouffée Over Rice, Top With a Pinch of Parsley Flakes and ENJOY!
