Instead, if you have some, I would use those apple juice bottles that at shaped like an apple as the respirators. Looks really cool!

While the vinegar is a good step, a layer of activated charcoal( fish tank filter material), separated from the vinegar with coarse cloth, with take out much more toxins.

The vinegar is probably to neutralize Tear gas, but it's not a good idea as have been seen on Brazilian Protests. Anti-Acids are a good choice in this case as seen on turkey uprisings.

Real gas masks have layers of alkaline, and charcoal and a colloidal silver. Acid(vinegar) would be a good deterant against biological. I have several military grade masks, and many filter kits. With the storm on the horizon, one must prepare.
