How to Make a Naruto Style Headband

My son and daughters, (as well as I) love Naruto and they all love to dress up and pretend to be characters from the anime.

I however, am not one to buy something I can just make for myself, so when they wanted Naruto headbands, I started thinking.

I knew they would soon want different village designs, so I came up with this way to make a very low cost Naruto headband.

Step 1: What you need

• Soda or Tea Can (I like my Arizona Green Tea)
• Scissors
• Printed copy of one of the pictures below
• Paper Fasteners (Brads)
• Tape
• Needle
• Sharpie, Black
• Strip of black or blue cloth
• Thread
• Glue (go gorilla!)
• Silver Spray Paint

Here's an idea: cut the symbol out of the metal and place another piece behind it, to hold islands in place and give it depth.

You, of course, realize that real ninja would take all precautions necessary to blend in and not be detected and that wearing an armored headband depicting your nationality would ruin that effect. Also, bright orange jumpsuits = not stealthy. In short, the anime/manga, Naruto, is a horrible depiction of ninja and should be dragged out into the street and shot.

not to mention the Fact that there twelve and throwing kuni knives, Ive seen a real one, There was now way you could throw that accurately, also there were used as hidden knives rather than a throwing knife.

Great instructable. One of my kids is bound to get into Naruto sooner or later and this will come in hand And to our resident ninja expert.....Naruto is make believe, you did realize that before you went off on your "real ninja" rant..right?? Keep on making the diy kids stuff. .

I'm no ninja expert. It's common knowledge. I realize it's "make-believe", but it's putting the wrong ideas of ninja in ignorant childrens' heads.

Because, saying that ninja's wear what is hollywood's take on their clothing, namely all black, then you must think that wearing all black in the middle of day is stealthy? Only at night when the moon isnt out, sure. Because ninjas wore whatever they could and whatever made sense at the time. Pretending to be an old lady, or a servant, or whatever to get them closer to their mark to finish the job is what they wore, even if it meant wearing flannel.
