Introduction: How to Make a Paper Tree

About: I love to sew, as I'm sure you can see from my ibles ;) I also love lawn flamingos, going to the beach, dinosaurs, and doing random stuff.

Well, it's been a while since I posted an Instructable. This will show you how to make a super-fly paper tree.
You will need two(2) preferably square pieces of paper but you can start out with rectangle peices of paper, glue, and scissors.
(Don't draw the lines on the folds, I did that so you could see the folds in the pictures better.)

Step 1: Well...

First fold it in half corner to corner. Unfold. Fold it corner to corner again the other way. Next fold it in half regularly. Unfold. Fold in half again. It should look like the last picture in this step but with lines on it from all sides.

Step 2: 1, 2, 11, 12, 19

Now you fold each corner/side along the diagonal lines shown on this pictuer. It should look like the second picture on this step.

Step 3: :3 Kitty

Now fold in each side as shown. It should be on the folds near the ends of the paper that form a "V" shape.

Step 4: Halt! (No Don't Really)

Ok so where each side meets the other put a bit of glue and stick them together. You can either hold it 'till it stays together or put some tape at the top (you will remove the tape later).

Step 5: The Trunk!

I used an un-sticky memo pad paper to make this tree with and used another piece of it for the trunk.Cut a piece of paper that will be the right size for the trunk. The trunk in this case will be less than an inch tall.

So anyway, cut the piece of paper and glue it into a cylinde shape. Then flatten it. Unflatten it and flatten it the other way so that it will form a square.

Now fold in the sides so that it looks like picture number 5 on this step. Do that with the other sides so that it looks like picture number 6.

Step 6: Here Comes the Scissors.

Now cut the trunk on every fold not too far down. Maybe less than 1/4 of an inch for this size one. Fold them back and put a drop of glue on each flap thingy. Then sick the tree part on it and adjust the flaps as necessary.

Step 7: The End

There you go! You have just made your first paper tree (or maybe not)! You can cut out a circle of paper and put yarn on it and glue it to the bottom of the trunk to make a tree skirt. I might post a video sometime about how to make one of these.

I would love to see other people's trees they made. And I like comments. :)
